VP of Revenue Cycle

Executive Search Associates has been engaged by a community healthcare leader along California’s Central Coast to conduct a search for a new VP of Revenue Cycle.

The VP of Revenue Cycle ensures that all billing and collections activities are optimized across the revenue cycle. This includes but is not limited to coordination of patient access, coding, 3rd party billing, denials, collections, contractual adjustments, contract management, IT applications, regulatory compliance and integration into the financial systems. This team member will ensure that all functions are working collectively toward the goal of optimizing the organization’s net revenue.  

Education: Bachelor’s degree or significant equivalent experience.  

Experience: 5 years of hands-on direct hospital billing and collections experience or revenue cycle experience in a health care environment preferred. Experience should include handling denials, appeals and complex contractual arrangements. NOTE: This experience must be in a hospital setting rather than a physician office setting.  

Ability to build, develop and maintain strong relationships. Strong knowledge of hospital insurance billing practices and protocols. Solid understanding of hospital ICD-10 codes. Solid understanding of financial implications of billing requirements and decisions. Experience with reading and interpreting financial statements.
